Munich (dpa / lby) - After Deutsche Bahn and the Länderbahn stopped traffic from Bavaria to the Czech Republic in mid-February due to the corona pandemic, trains should start running again from April.

Both companies announced this on Wednesday.

The Alex (RE25), which belongs to the Länderbahn, will start on the route between Munich and Prague on April 7th.

From April 12th, the Upper Palatinate Railway will be running again with the Marktredwitz-Cheb-Hof connection.

According to a spokesman, trains at Deutsche Bahn will also start rolling on April 12th.

This applies to the Hof-Cheb and Nuremberg-Cheb routes operated by DB Regio Bayern.

In February, the federal government tightened the rules for entry from several EU countries and also issued a ban on transport to the Czech Republic.

The reason for this was the high incidence values in the neighboring country.
