Bürstadt (dpa / lhe) - In a head-on collision between two cars in the Bergstrasse district, three people were injured, two of them seriously.
A possibly drunk 54-year-old was driving his vehicle on federal highway 47 when he ran into oncoming traffic near Bürstadt.
As the police also announced, he collided with the car of a 44-year-old woman.
She and her 43-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries.
A rescue helicopter flew the woman to a clinic.
The 54-year-old was slightly injured.
According to the information, he is suspected of having been drunk.
The man had to give a blood sample.
An expert should now clarify the exact cause of the accident.
Federal highway 47 was closed for about three hours after the collision on Tuesday.
