The Italian Foreign Ministry announced today that it has summoned the Russian ambassador in Rome after the police announced the arrest of an Italian naval officer who was caught spying for Moscow, accompanied by a Russian officer who received "secret" documents from him.

It said in a statement that Ambassador Sergey Razov was summoned to the ministry at the request of Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, after the Italian police announced that "yesterday evening" the security forces "arrested an officer in the navy," in addition to a Russian officer.
