Kiel (dpa / lno) - The Schleswig-Holstein Investment Bank supported people, companies and municipalities in the state with 3.8 billion euros in funding last year.

That was around 1.5 billion more than in the previous year, as the bank announced on Wednesday at its online balance sheet press conference.

Just over a billion euros were paid out for corona aid.

For the federal and state programs for Corona emergency aid, 75,000 applications had to be processed, as CEO Erk Westermann-Lammers said.

In connection with these applications, 73 criminal charges were filed on suspicion of fraud.

Even without the Corona aid, the funding volume climbed to the record value of 2.8 billion euros.

Westermann-Lammers spoke of an exceptional year.
