Cottbus (dpa / bb) - Raid in the drug milieu: During searches in Lusatia, the police said they had seized more than 80 kilograms of drugs worth 1.1 million euros.

Police spokesman Maik Kettlitz announced on Wednesday that two men, aged 38 and 39, who were already known to the police, were arrested and in custody.

Two temporarily arrested women are again at large.

Kettlitz spoke of the largest drug discovery in Lusatia in recent years.

The «Lausitzer Rundschau» had previously reported on it.

During searches of nine properties in Senftenberg (Oberspreewald-Lausitz), Finsterwalde and Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf (both Elbe-Elster) last weekend, the investigators found large amounts of marijuana, cocaine, crystal meth and ecstasy pills, among other things.

The alleged perpetrators had hidden drugs and money in apartments, allotments and in an old homestead.

A pistol was also seized.

South Brandenburg has been the focus of investigations into drug crime for years, said Kettlitz.
