Erfurt (dpa / th) - Thuringia is facing the second Easter under lockdown conditions.

However, the strict contact restrictions will be relaxed somewhat over the holidays - this is provided for by the country's new Corona regulation published on Wednesday.

From Good Friday to Easter Monday, two households with a maximum of five people may meet;

Children under the age of 14 belonging to the household are not included here.

Before and after Easter, the rule that is already in force remains that members of a household are allowed to meet a maximum of one other person;

Children are not included here either.

Thuringia has been the federal state hardest hit by the pandemic for months.

With a good 242 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, the so-called incidence value according to the Koch Institute (RKI) on Wednesday was well above the nationwide of 132. With an incidence of almost 596, the district of Greiz is the corona hotspot number ice in Germany.

Places four to seven with incidences between 406 and 360 are held by the Saale-Orla district, the Wartburg district, the city of Gera, and the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district.

"We are already in the middle of the third wave of infections in Thuringia," said Health Minister Heike Werner (left).

She referred to the rapid spread of virus mutations, including the variant, which has so far been detected in more than 5000 cases in Thuringia and was first observed in Great Britain.

For the Easter days, it is therefore particularly important to reduce contacts in the private sector.

Many health authorities have been observing for weeks that private and family contacts are fueling the pandemic.

Despite the difficult situation, there is some relief.

For example, day care facilities can reopen if the value in their region has remained stable for seven days below 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

Nursing homes are once again allowed to offer their residents group offers across different living areas - including people who have not been vaccinated.

According to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, the corona vaccination in the nursing homes has now been completed - almost 30,000 people have been vaccinated there.

The regulation applies from Thursday to April 24th.

Other new regulations are:
