Emmanuel Macron will speak during a televised address this Wednesday at 8 p.m.
This was announced by the Elysee Palace on Wednesday morning, just before the holding of a new health defense council, which was to open at 9 am.
It is during this meeting, still behind closed doors, that new measures to curb the epidemic must potentially be decided.
Until a few hours ago, almost the status quo still seemed possible, but a presidential address may be the sign of more important decisions than expected.
Since the start of the health crisis, it is by this means that Emmanuel Macron has always announced confinements, re-containment and deconfinement.
