Dresden (dpa / sn) - The volleyball players of the Dresdner SC are in the final of the German championship for the ninth time in their club history.

The preliminary round winner won the second playoff semi-final game in the "Best-of-three" series against SC Potsdam with 3: 2 (16:25, 21:25, 25: 20, 28:26, 15:10).

The protégés of trainer Alexander Waibl had won the first game 3-1 in Potsdam.

The final opponent will be determined in a duel between Allianz MTV Stuttgart and SSC Palmberg Schwerin.

Both teams face each other late in the evening.

The Mecklenburg women won the first game.

Potsdam was tactically very well prepared from the first minute, played aggressively and stably.

On the other hand, the hosts acted nervously and with the handbrake on, making a lot of mistakes in the first two sets.

After Alexander Waibl had already replaced Morgan Hentz in the libero position Lenka Dürr, the substitution of setter Sarah Straube provided an initial spark in the third section.

Now the Dresden women fought their way better in the duel, improved and attacked variably.

However, the game in the fourth section was on the knife edge when the fourth round from Brandenburg already had three match points.

But with great fighting spirit and great morale, the DSC women fended off everyone and then turned the first set ball with a task from the returned setter Jenna Gray.

In the tie-break, the hosts played their game right from the start and captain Lena Stigrot set the end point with the first match point after more than two hours.
