Berlin (dpa) - On the autobahns in East Germany, you should get through quite well at Easter this year.

"In principle, we do not expect massive traffic jams due to the pandemic situation," said the federal motorway company for the east and northeast areas.

Because of the Corona crisis, the federal and state governments advise against travel.

If there are still many cars on the road, traffic jams are possible at several construction sites.

An overview:

MECKLENBURG-VORPOMMERN

Work is in progress on the A20 Baltic Sea motorway between Bad Sülze and Tribsees.

If there is a high volume of traffic, traffic jams with long waiting times are possible, said the motorway company.

BERLIN / BRANDENBURG

Construction continues at the Pankow motorway triangle and the Prenzlauer Promenade.

The seven-kilometer-long construction site is due to be closed at the end of the year.

There is only one lane per direction.

The same applies on the Berliner Ring (A10) between Phöben and Spandau and on the A11 between the Uckermark and Schmölln junction.

Work is also underway on the eastern and northern Berliner Ring, and the A24 is still being expanded.

However, full closures are not planned.
