The fire was extinguished by school staff, and no one was injured in connection with the incident.

According to the rescue service, it was paper that burned in a toilet.

This quickly led to the suspicion that the fire was part of a kind of challenge that flourished on social media.

The police in Stockholm had then begun to pay attention to a Tiktok challenge that is popular among young people.

In addition to Praktiska gymnasiet in Södertälje, there were also other schools in the county where it had started to burn in trash cans in school toilets.

Carin Segerström, principal at Praktiska gymnasiet said the day after the fire to SVT:

- It is clear that the fire has started in the trash, which confirms that we have joined this challenge.

After the fire, the police went to the school to investigate whether there was any criminal suspicion.

Two teenage girls are now being prosecuted for arson and aggravated vandalism in Södertälje District Court.

According to LT, both deny the crime, but one of them confirms what happened.

The clip: SVT was on site after the fire had been extinguished and talked to, among others, the principal at the school.
