• We can. Pablo Iglesias says goodbye with a video on Twitter and not from Moncloa: "We have shown that we are not bought"

The departure of Pablo Iglesias from the Government to be candidate of Podemos in the elections of the Madrid community forces Pedro Sánchez to carry out a new Government crisis, just a few weeks after the one carried out by the departure of Salvador Illa, then Minister of Health , to be a candidate for the PSOE in Catalonia.

The President of the Government will appear in the afternoon of this Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Sánchez will make an institutional statement from La Moncloa in which "in principle", according to the sources consulted, he will give an account of some surgical changes in which the gaps left by the departure of Iglesias are replaced.

Thus, Yolanda Díaz, Minister of Labor, will become third vice president, since Nadia Calviño, who until now held that vice presidency, rises one ladder to be second vice president.

Although the second vice-presidency in the government pact signed between PSOE and Unidas Podemos corresponded to Unidos Podemos, Sánchez has changed the order so that Calviño continues to be the highest economic head of the Executive, the Economic Delegate Commission remains president, and does not have Díaz Above her.

An alteration of the ladder that the socialist wing of the Executive demanded and to which Díaz gave the go-ahead from the first moment.

Another of the appointments will be that of Ione Belarra as Minister of Social Rights, the department that Iglesias had associated with in his vice-presidency.

Belarra, who until now was Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda, is one of the most prominent leaders of United We Can, trusted by Iglesias, and who has piloted some of the most important negotiations with the PSOE, such as the configuration itself of the coalition or, at the moment, the Housing Law, where the positions between the partners are still far apart in terms of rent regulation.

As a preliminary step to the appointments that Pedro Sánchez communicates to the King in the next few hours and then makes public, the Council of Ministers has already approved the appointment of Enrique Santiago, current leader of the PCE and a person very close to Iglesias, as the new secretary of Status for the 2030 Agenda.
