Munich / Leipzig (dpa / sn) - On Friday the Easter holidays begin for 490,000 children and young people in Saxony - this year the excursion or a tour to the grandparents could be less viscous than usual. The ADAC calculates for the second year in a row with significantly less traffic.

Because the corona crisis and its restrictions hardly allow national travel.

In addition, the Federal Government urges you to refrain from travel that is not absolutely necessary at home and abroad, especially at Easter.

However, when the weather is nice, day-trippers can expect traffic into the local recreation areas, explained the ADAC.

This could lead to local traffic jams and in isolated cases even to access blocks.

Day trips - except in individual hotspots - are generally not prohibited.

Most of the time, things should go smoothly on the Saxon motorways.

For the Easter weekend there are only two major construction sites, as the federal autobahn GmbH announced on request.

On the A17 between the Dresden-West and Dresden-Neustadt triangle, around three kilometers of winter damage will be repaired.

The same applies to the A4 between Meerane and Glauchau (Zwickau district).

During the Easter weekend in the direction of Erfurt there will be repeated construction sites there.

“These are preparatory measures for the actual construction site, which will be set up on the A4 on April 12th and on the A17 on April 13th in order to completely renovate the roadways,” explained spokesman Tino Möhring.

This is necessary because the traffic is usually led past the construction sites on the opposite lane and this lane then has to be prepared.

In addition, day-to-day construction sites in Saxony can occur again and again if damage caused by winter suddenly appears.
