The 18-year-old son of a Clermont-Ferrand commissioner was identified in videos posted on social networks while he was driving at high speed, and without a license, behind the wheel of his father's company car .

The young man should be taken into custody, while an investigation has been opened.

The 18-year-old son of a Clermont-Ferrand commissioner was identified in videos driving his father's company car, driving at high speed and without a driver's license, according to the prosecution.

The young man, who had borrowed the vehicle of number 2 of the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) of Puy-de-Dôme, was "in great speed excess, since he was traveling at 120 kilometers / hour" on a portion limited to 50 km / h, clarified Tuesday the prosecutor of Clermont-Ferrand Éric Maillaud, confirming information from the regional daily La Montagne.

A complaint for "theft" filed by the police

The national police said they had filed a complaint for "theft" of this vehicle which belongs to the administration.

An investigation was opened in particular for "driving without a license".

Identified on videos posted on social networks, the young man should be taken into custody in the coming days.

Two videos show the driver, dressed in a red sweater, driving at high speed at night, all sirens blaring, filmed on a cell phone by a passenger in the vehicle.

"When you take a speed bump at 120, it gives that"

On one of them, a comment appears when the vehicle crosses a speed reducer in a zone limited to 30 km / h: "when you take a speed bump at 120, it gives that".

"He is completely crazy!", Then launches the passenger.

Another video shows the same driver in the same vehicle, driving very fast through the city streets at night and running several red lights.

A voice then imitates a policeman: "We have information on an individual heading towards Saint-Jacques (a district of Clermont-Ferrand), send a reinforcement team ..."

The young man already prosecuted for similar facts

"The question arises as to how he was able to recover the car" parked in the parking lot of the police station, while his father was on vacation, said Éric Maillaud.

A psychological expertise must be carried out because the young man was already prosecuted for similar facts.

On December 13, police spotted him after a dangerous pass, but he fled.

Arrested after a chase, he held up his father's business card.

He must appear on April 6 before the criminal court of Clermont-Ferrand for "driving a vehicle without a license", "endangering the life of others", "usurpation of title" and "refusal to comply".

"All light will have to be shed on these serious and intolerable facts which tarnish the image of the National Police", declared the director of the DDSP, Arnaud Bavois, at La Montagne.
