Dresden (dpa) - In Saxony there are investigations against 17 officers of a mobile task force of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA).

The allegations concern theft or aid to theft, violations of the weapons law and corruption, as the public prosecutor's office in Dresden and the LKA announced on Tuesday.

On the same day, the private apartments of four main suspects and the offices of all suspects were searched in the Dresden area.

The main suspects, aged between 32 and 49, are accused of stealing at least 7,000 rounds of ammunition from service stocks in November 2018 and using them as payment for private shooting training at a shooting range in Güstrow.

The mobile command was then for a week of training in the north, it said: “Another 13 police officers between the ages of 30 and 54 who were suspected of assisting theft and violating the weapons law took part in the unauthorized shooting training . "

The proceedings are based on investigations by the Schwerin public prosecutor's office against Frank T., who was the owner of the company in Güstrow at the time, who was persecuted separately.

Because of the prominent importance, the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office has now taken over proceedings against Saxon police officers from the Schwerin public prosecutor's office.

Details should be given in the afternoon at an online press conference in Dresden.

The public prosecutor's office said that the objects seized during the search are now to be evaluated.

You are also checking any connections to the “Nordkreuz” group.

So far, however, there are no indications of this.

Behind "Nordkreuz" is a presumably right-wing extremist prepper group.

Followers of this scene prepare for a disaster, "Day X", by hoarding supplies.

In some cases, they also set up illegal arms stores and - as in the case of "Nordkreuz" - keep lists of the names of political opponents.
