Governor of the Bank of Lebanon before the British judiciary

The British "Guernica 37" Foundation is heading to submit a file to the British authorities, demanding that Riad Salameh and a number of his family members be investigated for the crimes of embezzlement and money laundering.

Guernica prepared 37 reports of 76 pages, in which it collected information about Salama, his son, his brother Raja and his assistant, Marian Al-Hawaik, in addition to his former brother-in-law, Shafiq Abi Al-Lamma.

The Foundation considered that "these individuals were working together as a gang, accusing Salameh of organizing a fraud scheme that led to the collapse of the Lebanese banking sector, and with it the entire economy," according to what was reported in the Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper.

It is noteworthy that the classified report was prepared at the request of a person named Nadim Matta, believed to be a Lebanese-American businessman, who lives in Washington, DC, and previously worked in the USAID office in Lebanon. And at Save the Children, he designed one of the latter's work programs.

The British Guernica 37 Foundation had already prepared a few weeks ago, which was submitted to the British judiciary, in order to prosecute Asma al-Assad, the wife of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Salameh's report was prepared by a team from the Foundation led by Toby Cadman, one of its founders who previously worked in the areas of so-called "international justice", and Karl Buckley, who works on the management committee of "Guernica 37", and is a lawyer in England and Wales.
