Bremerhaven (dpa / lni) - The Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven have surprisingly clearly lost in the German Ice Hockey League.

The Seestädter were defeated on Tuesday by the Straubing Tigers from the southern group with 0: 4 (0: 2, 0: 1, 0: 1) and after five home wins in a row they remained without points for the first time in their own arena.

With 52 points, the team of coach Thomas Popiesch still has the playoffs firmly in their sights as second in the table in the northern group.

The Grizzlys Wolfsburg, however, have missed a better starting position in the fight for the knockout round.

Against the Augsburg Panthers, the Lower Saxony lost 1: 4 (1: 1, 0: 2, 0: 1) and are fourth with 41 points, the last place that entitles them to participate in the playoff.

The Grizzlys did not succeed more than the interim 1: 1 by Mathis Olimb (20th minute).
