March 30, 2021 In the last 24 hours there have been 470,219 infections and 8,209 deaths.

This is the incidence of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide, from 6.30 yesterday morning to the same time today according to the Johns Hopkins University database.

Overall, since the virus appeared, the disease has caused 127,587,110 infections worldwide, of which at least 2,791,718 have proved fatal.

According to the latest WHO estimates, North and South America totaled over 39% of new Covid infections (204,009).

Europe (176,469) and Southeast Asia (76,529) follow.

At the level of individual countries, the United States remains by far the most affected nation in the world and in the last few hours it has passed the threshold of 550 thousand deaths (550,003) out of over 30 million infections (30,331,025).

In terms of infections, the ranking (limited to the 14 nations that have exceeded two million cases, nine of which are now over three million) continues with Brazil (12.57 million cases) and then with India which on the push of the local variants is unfortunately returning to record a worrying increase in infections after a long period of regression of the disease and in the last hours has exceeded the threshold of 12 million infections (12.03).

In fourth position is therefore France (4.61) which precedes Russia (4.52).

In sixth place there are Great Britain (4.35), then Italy (3.54), Spain (3.27), Turkey (3.24), Germany (2.79), Colombia ( 2.38), Argentina (2.32), Poland (2.26) and Mexico (2.22).

As far as the data relating to mortality is concerned, Brazil always ranks second behind the US, with 313,866 victims.

The tragic ranking continues with Mexico (201,832).

Still at the level of mortality, behind Mexico is India (162,114) while in fifth position is Great Britain, (126,857) where the vaccination campaign at an advanced stage has caused the rate of hospitalizations, positivity and mortality to drop so much that Compared to yesterday, the JHU database found 23 victims in 24 hours, a figure that is certainly dramatic but evidently in a dramatic decrease compared to what has been seen in recent months.

In particular in London, battered by the latest wave characterized by the spread of the local variant, for the first time in six months yesterday no lethality was recorded.

Returning to the data on mortality, in sixth place is Italy (108,350) then Russia (98,033 of which 293 yesterday), France (95,114) and Germany (76,139).
