Pullach (dpa) - The car rental company Sixt is giving a first rough forecast for 2021 after the previous year, which was badly affected by the Corona crisis.

Sixt is expecting an increase in operating group sales and pre-tax profit in the current year, the company announced on Tuesday in Pullach near Munich.

In 2020, sales fell by around 39 percent to 1.5 billion euros.

Before taxes, the company listed in the SDax small cap index made a loss of 82 million euros after a profit of 308 million a year earlier.

Sixt presented preliminary figures at the beginning of March.

The car rental company was further affected by the consequences of the corona pandemic, in particular the travel restrictions still in force in many countries, it said.

It is currently not possible to reliably estimate the extent of the restrictions due to the high level of uncertainty.

For this reason, the Executive Board is currently not making any specific statements about the development for the current year.
