The police intercepted a bus on Friday, which presented itself at the border between France and Spain, in Boulou (Pyrénées-Orientales), on board which were about thirty passengers, of Romanian nationality, and two drivers.

They were all equipped with false negative tests for Covid-19, learned

from David Cavaillé, the public prosecutor of Perpignan.

An alleged network of test tampering

The drivers were taken into custody, and the convoy was told to turn around.

The prosecution forwarded this information to the Spanish police, who are investigating an alleged network of falsified PCR tests.

Unlike France, Spain, as in other countries in Europe, the tests are indeed not free: you have to pay several tens of euros, except in the event of symptoms and a medical prescription.

At the Spanish border, in either direction, motorists must present a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours.

This measure, which has already been in force on the French side since the end of January, took effect on Tuesday on the Spanish side.
