Kaunas (AP) - Bundesliga basketball team Alba Berlin has lost its Euroleague game at Zalgiris Kaunas with 86:96 (51:41).

In a duel with two completely different halves, the Berliners lost on Tuesday evening after two good quarters in their third-last game of the season on the European stage.

The top scorer of the guests was Marcus Eriksson with 19 points.

The team of coach Aito Garcia Reneses found their way into the game in Kaunas, both offensively and defensively.

Led by the 2.21 meter tall center Christ Koumadje, Alba was on the defensive and played with a good rhythm early on in the attack.

Even without the build-up player Maodo Lo, who was missing due to a foot injury, good throws were made.

Eriksson in particular was unstoppable.

The Swedish winger scored 17 of his 19 points in the first 13 minutes of the game with perfect throwing rates.

And because his teammates were also on target, the guests extended their lead to ten points for the first time at halftime (51:41).

In the second half of the game, however, Zalgiris set the tone.

The Lithuanians won the third section with 27:10 and turned the game around before it went into the final quarter with 61:68 from Berlin's point of view.

Because Alba did not have any defensive access for a long time, despite a good first half, the defeat was well deserved.
