Bretzfeld (dpa / lsw) - Fraudsters have brought a senior citizen from Bretzfeld by more than 40,000 euros.

The 87-year-old was told several stories of lies on the phone, the police said on Tuesday.

A fake bank employee initially claimed that there had been an attempt to withdraw funds from her account, but that it had been prevented.

A security officer is now on the way to her and pick up her debit card.

Your previous security code will be required for a new account, the man lied accordingly.

The woman gave the fraudsters the code and later also the bank card.

The scammers later contacted the woman again.

The caller urged the woman to get the cash from a locker and also give it to the security guard.

The elderly woman responded to this request again.

A short time later she handed over 40,000 euros in cash to the same unknown person collecting it.

In addition, 2000 euros were withdrawn from her account at an ATM.

The case happened last Wednesday.

According to the investigations, there were at least three cases near Heilbronn at the end of March in which perpetrators acted similarly and thus stole cash in the four-digit range.
