Hamburg (dpa) - Still without top scorer Simon Terodde, but with the regulars Jeremy Dudziak and Toni Leistner who have returned from injuries, Hamburger SV started preparing for the northern derby in the 2nd Bundesliga at Hannover 96 on Monday.

While midfielder Dudziak completed training with rehabilitation coach Sebastian Capel after his shoulder injury, central defender Leistner worked with the team on the training grounds in the Volkspark after a muscle injury, HSV announced.

Terodde, who missed the home game against 1. FC Heidenheim (2-0) due to a positive corona test, is expected to return to the unit on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest after his quarantine that lasted until (today) Monday.

While he was exiled to his own home, he kept himself fit with exercises there.

It remains to be seen whether the 33-year-old striker, who leads the second league's list of goalscorers with 20 goals, will start playing on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky).

Coach Daniel Thioune also wants to wait for the training impressions from Dudziak (25).

For Leistner (30), a start in the starting line-up after almost two months of injury is unrealistic.
