Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman telephoned the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that the Saudi crown prince reviewed, during the call, the "Green Saudi" initiative, the "Green Middle East" initiative, and the importance of joint action in the region to face environmental challenges, in addition to developing an ambitious regional road map that includes clean energy, afforestation and natural reserves.

The Emir of the State of Qatar expressed his appreciation for this initiative, and his country's support for all efforts that achieve its goals.

Saudi Arabia intends to launch two initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions, and curbing pollution and land degradation.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that the Saudi Green Initiative aims to plant 10 billion trees inside Saudi Arabia over the coming decades, and reduce emissions through renewable energy projects that will provide 50% of electricity production by 2030, and Riyadh will also work with other Arab countries on the initiative. The Green Middle East, to plant another 40 billion trees, as part of what has been considered the largest reforestation program in the world.
