According to Kiselyov, the group's route, registered with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, assumed movement on flat terrain, the children were not provided with avalanche safety equipment.

According to the investigation, the accused had no skiing experience, decided to save time and take a shortcut, deviated from the route and brought the children to a mountainous area.
