So many were stopped in a month for suspected drug and alcohol driving - see where on the map

In the video, SVT has mapped all suspected cases of alcohol and drug driving in the Bergslagen police area during January 2021. There are 58 cases of drunk driving and 174 cases of drunk driving.

The vast majority are stopped in the larger cities or in places where many people gather.

When it comes to drunk driving, Örebro, Karlskoga, Sälen and Karlstad stand out in the statistics with the most cases.

When it comes to drug driving, Borlänge, Avesta and Kristinehamn also end up among the places where most suspected cases have been discovered by the police.

Last year, the police stopped 839 suspected drunk drivers in Bergslagen, the corresponding figure for drug drunk driving is 1782.

As for reported crimes between 2000 and 2014, more drunk driving was reported than drug drunk driving in the country.

This is shown by figures from the Crime Prevention Council, Brå.

In 2015, however, the trend was broken.

Then, for the first time, more drug drunkenness than drunkenness was reported, and this is how the development has looked since then.

Last year, the reported drug drunkards were almost twice as many as the drunkards.
