Oslo (AP) - The Norwegian ski jumper Daniel André Tande woke up from an artificial coma after his serious fall while ski flying in Planica.

"Today has started as best as possible - with this message from our good friends in Slovenia: Daniel woke up and is now talking to his mother and girlfriend," said the Norwegian ski jumpers' sports director, Clas Brede Braathen, to various Norwegian media on Monday morning. including the NTB news agency and the “Verdens Gang” newspaper.

"He is fully conscious and everything is fine."
