Hamburg (dpa / lno) - In the jury trial against a 24-year-old suspected knife-stabber, the Hamburg public prosecutor has demanded five and a half years in prison for attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm.

The attorneys of the secondary prosecution pleaded for five years and eight months, as the court announced on Monday.

The man is charged with attempted murder in the district court.

In August of last year, he is said to have stabbed another man at least eleven times with a jackknife in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on Eiffestrasse and seriously injured him.

The background to the crime is said to have been a dispute between the defendant's parents and the victim's family.

The victim's father allegedly hit the defendant's sister and partly tore off her headscarf.

The defenders of the 24-year-old want to make their plea on April 13th.

A judgment is expected on the same day.
