This was announced during a press conference by the head of the administration of the Suez Canal, Osama Rabia.

"There are 422 ships in line at the northern and southern entrances to the canal, as well as in Bolshoy Gorky Lake," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

On March 23, ships were blocked in the Suez Canal area after one of the world's largest container ships, Ever Given, ran aground, blocking the channel.

On March 29, the Suez Canal Administration confirmed that navigation was resumed on the channel.

Also, the administration said that the ship was taken aground without unloading containers.
