Berlin (dpa) - After Klaus Dörr left as director of the Berliner Volksbühne, a female duo temporarily took over the head of the theater.

The dramaturge Sabine Zielke and Gabriele Gornowicz, managing director until 2014, form the management of the interim board of directors, as the Senate Culture Administration announced on Monday.

This could secure the game plan and the artistic work.

The interim directorate also includes Thomas Walter (managing director from 2014-18), Klaus Michael Aust (chief dispatcher), Stefan Pelz (technical director), theater director Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, a member of the ensemble and a member of the staff council.

In the coming season, the playwright and director René Polesch will be the new director of the Volksbühne.

The cultural administration has won two mediators to deal with the incidents that led to Dörr's resignation.

After allegations by several women, Dörr resigned his post in mid-March.

For the allegations made against him, he took full responsibility, said Dörr.
