Hanover (dpa / lni) - Every second company in Lower Saxony offers its employees regular corona tests or plans to do so shortly.

This is the result of a survey by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK), in which 950 companies from Lower Saxony took part.

"The willingness of our economy to test the employees is high," said Maike Bielfeldt, General Manager of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hanover.

Almost half of the companies do not yet have a test strategy.

For every fourth company, however, this question does not currently arise: 12 percent of the companies surveyed in Lower Saxony are closed and at another 14 percent the employees work exclusively from home.

Every third company that has not yet tested named a lack of information on how to handle corona tests as the greatest challenge, the IHK said.

Every fifth company complained about both inadequate training courses for test applications and delivery problems with test kits.

Because of the high demand, the market for rapid tests is currently tense.

In addition, many companies do not know where to order tests.

Small and medium-sized companies in particular are affected by the problems.
