Trassenheide (dpa / mv) - A thatched holiday home burned down in the north of the island of Usedom.

As a police spokesman said, the fire was noticed and reported on Monday morning in Trassenheide (Vorpommern-Greifswald).

According to previous investigations, the damage should amount to several hundred thousand euros and nobody should have been injured.

The cause of the fire is still unclear.

There should have been a solar system on the house.

Two weeks ago a thatched and uninhabited holiday home also burned down in Peenemünde, a few kilometers away.

Here the police are investigating suspected arson.

The damage was estimated at around 300,000 euros.
