Freiburg (dpa / bb) - Freiburg is proving to be a bad place for Turbine Potsdam.

A week after the cup was knocked out, the Brandenburgers lost 1-0 (0-0) on the last matchday of the women's Bundesliga before the international break at SC Freiburg and were unable to take advantage of the Hoffenheim slip (0-1 against Essen).

Although the turbines remain in fourth place in the table, they are still five points behind the targeted third place.

Compared to the cup defeat a week earlier, Emma Lind returned to the Potsdamer Tor for Zala Mersnik.

The Swede had a quiet start, watching the turbines want to make amends for the 3-6.

But the players of coach Sofian Chahed lacked the efficiency in front of goal to reward themselves for a good first half.

Johanna Elsig had the greatest chance of scoring after 41 minutes.

But the advanced central defender failed after a corner with her head.

Right at the beginning of the second half, Lind was also able to demonstrate her skills in the Potsdamer Tor when she prevented Ereleta Memeti from taking the lead in Freiburg with a brilliant parade (46th).

The second section turned out to be much more open.

The Potsdam women were initially lucky when Hasret Kayikci shot the ball past the goal from ten meters (72nd).

Kayikci aimed more precisely six minutes later when she scored the 1-0 winning goal (78th).

In return, bad luck for Turbine when Karen Holmgaard's long-range shot hit the bar at the Freiburg goal (80).
