Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The state capital Stuttgart pulls the emergency brake after several days of exceeded infection levels.

According to the city of Sunday, further cuts for the more than 600,000 residents will come into force next Wednesday in order to curb the spread of the corona virus.

Last Friday, the seven-day incidence in Stuttgart was three days in a row above the threshold of 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

However, with the implementation of the further restrictions, the city had waited for the country's new Corona ordinance announced for the weekend to ensure that the measures were consistent.

For retailers, “click and meet” will be over from Wednesday, museums, galleries and the Wilhelma botanical-zoological garden will be closed to the public.

Most body-hugging services such as those in cosmetic, tattoo and nail studios are prohibited.

Hairdressers are only allowed to continue working if they are entered in the trade register.

If the incidence falls below 100 for five consecutive days, the restrictions can be lifted.

On the other hand, if the numbers continue to deteriorate, even more far-reaching measures - such as night exit restrictions - could be implemented.
