The situation now seemed to have calmed down, but the lull would have been short-lived.

The city of Rillieux-la-Pape (Rhône) was again, Saturday evening, the scene of urban violence.

Four cars and a TCL bus were set on fire.

The work of a "commando" made up of about twenty "masked criminals dressed in black" according to Alexandre Vincendet, the LR mayor of the city who mentions on his Facebook page "30 minutes of an infamous outburst of violence" .

"Drug trafficking professionals"

"Once again, the Rilliards (inhabitants) who have asked nothing of anyone, except to live in peace, will find themselves without means of locomotion", indignant the elected official stressing that the bus driver has saw his vehicle "burn in front of his eyes".

"We can hardly put him on trial for having provoked these drug trafficking professionals," adds the young mayor of Rillieux for whom those responsible are no secret.

"We all know it now, these unjustifiable acts are the fact of a mafia gang which every day sees its ground retreat and accomplices being arrested by the Municipal Police and the National Police", he concludes.
