It is uncomfortable when you as a citizen have to ask yourself whether the government and parliament are still in their senses.
In normal times of democracy, the division of labor agreement is that you choose halfway sensible people to take care of politics while you work yourself and earn the taxes.
But the times are not normal and the division of labor no longer works.
Last week, the members of the German Bundestag had the routine opportunity to question the head of government, right after Angela Merkel had coldly apologized for her idea of the Easter rest.
It would have been the opportunity to ask Merkel the specific date by which everyone in Germany would receive a vaccination offer.

It would have been the opportunity to point out to the Chancellor that we have been in a lockdown for five months (fundamental rights have been restricted for a year) and that it is therefore strange if her Minister of Health and her RKI President now have a “complete Lockdown ”.
It would have been the opportunity to ask whether the Chancellor perceives that the death rate is falling.
Someone could have asked about psychological damage in children and adolescents caused by the permanent lockdown.
Someone could have asked about the economic damage.
Someone could have asked Angela Merkel if she knew how often it happens that vaccinated elderly people continue to be kept in solitary confinement in nursing homes by order of the state in order to avoid infection - a symbol of the insanity of German corona policy.
But none of that happened.
The MPs asked marginalized, pleasing or bunch of stuff.
What use are parliamentary control rights if the MPs only make important statements?
It would be up to the MPs to propose alternatives to Merkel's policy of no alternatives in the day-to-day operation in order to fight for majorities and vote on them.
So they only provide the accompanying noises to a government dilettantism that is making more and more citizens stunned.
