“Obviously, in relations with China, more and more aspects are emerging that increase the confrontation, they are definitely of a competitive nature,” TASS quoted Blinken as saying.
According to him, there are areas for cooperation between the two countries.
“Ultimately, we must build our relationship with China from a position of strength,” added the secretary of state.
He stressed that the United States will count on the support of partners and allies.
“If we develop a joint approach to the challenges that China presents, we will be more effective in dealing with them,” Blinken added.
Earlier it became known that China is imposing sanctions against the United States and Canada in response to similar measures against Beijing, which were introduced under the pretext of "lies and misinformation" about human rights violations in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
