The Yemeni army media center in the Taiz axis said that at least 12 Houthi militants were killed during confrontations in the Maqabneh district, west of Taiz governorate, amid talks led by many parties to reach a permanent ceasefire between all parties.

A military source said that an army soldier was killed and 3 wounded during the confrontations in the Al-Oudin Mountains, Al-Tier and Al-Matahen, and in the Al-Ahkum front in Haifan district, southeast of Taiz.

And in Marib, military sources said that clashes erupted between the army and the Houthis on the al-Kasara and al-Mushajeh fronts in the Serwah district.

The sources indicated that the Saudi-Emirati coalition aircraft targeted Houthi sites and vehicles.

In Al-Jawf governorate, in northeastern Yemen, the army said that it had gained control of new sites in the Burt al-Anan district, north of the governorate.

Drone warfare

The Saudi Press Agency said that the Saudi defenses intercepted two booby-trapped drones that had been launched towards the southern region of the Kingdom and managed to destroy them.

Saudi media reported that an explosive drone launched by the Houthis towards Khamis Mushait was destroyed.

Saudi official media revealed today, Sunday, that the Saudi-led coalition destroyed two mine boats that the Houthi group was planning to use in an "imminent" attack that was supposed to start from the port of Hodeidah on the Red Sea.

The Houthis continued their missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia after Riyadh last week offered a new peace initiative.

US special envoy Timothy Lenderking returned to the region last Thursday to promote the initiative, which includes a ceasefire throughout Yemen.

The Houthis want the coalition to lift the sea and air blockade of the areas under their control.

The ongoing conflict in Yemen has caused a humanitarian crisis, which the United Nations describes as the largest in the world.
