The flames broke out on the first floor of a building in the Bottière district, in Nantes.

A "violent apartment fire" took place this Sunday at the beginning of the afternoon, rue Urbain Le Verrier, shortly after 2 p.m., reports the Loire-Atlantique departmental fire and rescue service.

According to firefighters, a 6-month-old baby, who was in an absolute emergency, was transported to the Nantes University Hospital.

The parents of the girl were also taken to the hospital, in a condition which however inspired less concern.

Some 57 firefighters were mobilized at the height of the operation, to take care of six other minor injuries who did not require hospital treatment.

The intervention was all the more delicate as the building, isolated from the outside "required stripping operations on the facade", explain the firefighters.

Several relocations were organized by the social landlord and the town hall of Nantes.

We do not yet know the circumstances of this fire, which would have started from a room.
