"I felt a slight pain at the site of the injection." Putin reveals the effects of receiving the vaccine

Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed today (Sunday) that he experienced slight side effects from the Corona virus vaccine after receiving the first dose last Tuesday.

"I woke up the next day to receive the vaccine, and it seemed to me that I felt a slight muscle pain. I measured the temperature and it was normal," he told Russian state TV Channel One.

Putin explained that his body temperature did not rise after the vaccination, but he felt slight weakness the next day, and later he felt slight pain at the injection site.

Putin did not clarify which of the three Russian vaccines he received, saying only the doctor who injected him knew this.

The Kremlin announced Putin's decision to receive the vaccine in December, and Putin said that the delay in doing so was due to the need to take it with other vaccines he intended to take.

The independent Levada Center for Public Opinion says that about two-thirds of Russians were not ready to receive the (Sputnik V) vaccine until March 1.

Russia began the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in December.

On Monday, Putin said 4.3 million of the 144 million Russians had already received the vaccine.

Russia has recorded more than 4.5 million cases of the virus so far.

Putin said that he expected Russia to reach the stage of herd immunity to the emerging corona virus and to lift the restrictions related to controlling the outbreak by the end of the summer.

It is noteworthy that Russia has two anti-Corona vaccines, namely (EpiVac Corona) and (CoffeeVac), which appeared a month ago, in addition to the internationally recognized vaccine (Sputnik V).

Today, the Russian authorities announced about 9,000 new cases of corona, and this daily rate exceeded 20,000 cases at the end of last year.
