Nearly 7.7 million viewers watched Friday night the crucial match between France and Scotland counting for the 2021 Six Nations Tournament on France 2, widely leading audiences, according to data released by the press service of the chain.

The Blues, who led at half-time and who had to register four tries and win with a 21-point gap to win the Six Nations Tournament, finally lost at the very end of the match (27-23).

"Almost 7.7 million viewers (29.2% audience share (PDA)) supported #XVdeFrance last night for its last match of the 2021 #SixNations Tournament," tweeted the press service of the channel on his Twitter account.

A peak of 8.7 million viewers was also reached in the evening, according to the channel which claims to have been "well ahead of the audiences".

The four previous matches of the XV of France, which had been broadcast on the public channel, had on average reached 5.7 million viewers and 31.7% of audience share (PDA).

Each time, France 2 has been the audience leader, all categories of viewers combined ("4 years and over"), but also among the active, and among 15-24 year olds, according to figures from Médiamétrie.
