Stuttgart (AP) - The Greens around Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann have ended the exploratory talks and are expected to decide before Easter with whom to negotiate a coalition.

"We try to get the decision before Easter," said Kretschmann on Saturday evening after the third round of explorations in Stuttgart.

The 72-year-old head of government left it open whether the current coalition partner CDU or SPD and FDP had better cards.

Kretschmann announced that the green negotiating group would meet next Wednesday and evaluate the talks.

Then the team in the state board has to give a recommendation and then a decision is made there.
