The militant groups in Northern Ireland still pose a significant danger, and they still have access to weapons.

The harsh assessment was made at the end of last year by the independent commission IRC.

According to the British BBC, Ulster Volunteer Force, UVF, still has an estimated 7,500 members, although not all are active.

The group accused of being behind more than 500 murders during The Troubles, the long-running and bloody conflict in Northern Ireland.
