In this interview, Abdullah Abdullah affirms that all the differences between the Afghan authorities and the Taliban cannot be resolved during these talks and believes that a ceasefire agreement would be a significant progress. 

He considers that fears that the Taliban will take control of the country in the event of an American withdrawal are unfounded.

"It would be a very bad calculation to believe for the Taliban that they could take control of the country in the event of the withdrawal of American troops," he warns.
