Neumünster (dpa / lno) - In a head-on collision on the B205 near Neumünster, two people were killed, nine more were critically or seriously injured.
A van collided on Saturday night on the federal highway in the south of Neumünster with another oncoming van, the police said.
According to the information, both vehicles have Polish license plates and were fully occupied at the time of the accident.
The 40-year-old driver, who was traveling in the direction of Bad Segeberg, got into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason and collided with the second car.
The 40-year-old with Polish citizenship and his passenger were fatally injured, the four other passengers suffered life-threatening injuries.
The five people involved in the accident in the second car were also taken to hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries.
The B205 was closed in both directions until 9.45 a.m.
The property damage amounts to around 40,000 euros.
Further details about those involved in the accident were initially unclear.
