Flensburg / Kiel (dpa / lno) - The Bundesliga handball players of SG Flensburg-Handewitt and THW Kiel face each other today in what may be the decisive game for the German championship.

Before the 104th Schleswig-Holstein derby, the Kielers lead the table with 33: 3 points ahead of the Flensburgers (32: 4).

The "Zebras" won the first leg with 29:21.

Both teams cannot compete with the best line-up as some Danish national players are still in corona quarantine.

At THW goalkeeper Niklas Landin is affected, at SG backcourt player Mads Mensah Larsen and circle runner Simon Hald.

The mutual respect is great.

Flensburg is a “very well-rehearsed group that not only has individual quality, but is also very dangerous as a team,” says the Kiel managing director Viktor Szilagyi.

"The THW has world-class staff in every position," replied Flensburg's trainer Maik Machulla.
