Egyptian media reported that a 10-storey building had collapsed in the Gesr El Suez area in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and there was no information available so far on the number of victims or injured.

A video clip circulated by local media showed some citizens trying to search for the missing residents under the rubble, with the presence of Civil Protection Forces at the site of the accident.

This incident comes after a collision of two trains that occurred yesterday in Sohag Governorate in Upper Egypt, which resulted in the death of at least 32 passengers, and the injury of about 165 others.

This coincided with the crisis of the ship that ran aground in the Suez Canal, which caused its closure since last Tuesday and disrupted navigation in the canal for the fourth consecutive day, at a time when efforts are continuing to float it.
