Berlin (AP) - Basketball Bundesliga team Alba Berlin has received its 20th defeat in the Euroleague.
On Friday evening, the Berlin team lost 67:80 (40:45) to leaders FC Barcelona despite a long period of good performance.
With eleven wins, Alba remains fifteenth in the table.
The playoffs could not be reached before.
The best thrower from Berlin was Luke Sikma with nine points.
Coach Aito Garcia Reneses had the entire squad available except for the injured national player Maodo Lo.
And Alba got into the game well and quickly took a 6-2 lead.
The Catalan star ensemble then got into the game better, but the Berliners stayed at eye level in the fast-paced game.
Only in the second quarter did Alba have problems against the hosts' strong defense.
Almost four minutes not a single point was achieved before center Ben Lammers ended the dry spell.
But even after an eight-point deficit, Alba remained calm and even equalized again to 40:40 before the break.

After the break, Alba continued to follow a narrow deficit.
In the middle of the third quarter they came back to two points (52:54).
But the Catalans always had an answer ready.
At the beginning of the last section, they moved away to ten points (61:71) because Alba did little offensively.
