The head of French diplomacy Jean-Yves Le Drian announced Friday that the German authorities have decided to strengthen border controls for travelers arriving from France.

The tests will be "compulsory" and the quarantines "recommended".

"This means more reinforced random health checks than what existed until now, with mandatory tests and recommended quarantine," said Jean-Yves Le Drian on France Info radio.
