Bremen (dpa / lni) - In a rear-end collision on the A1 motorway at the Bremer Kreuz junction, a truck pushed three cars into one another and caused a traffic jam that lasted for hours.

A woman and two men at the wheel of their car were injured, the police in the Verden district announced on Friday.

The accident began at around 2:10 p.m. when a truck suddenly had to brake in the dense rush hour traffic.

The three cars behind him could still brake, but not the following semitrailer of a 58 year old driver.

The truck pushed the small vehicles into one another and was unable to maneuver.

The clean-up work lasted until around 5 p.m.

Then the traffic jam only slowly dissolved.

The police estimate the damage at around 90,000 euros.
