Iffezheim (dpa / lsw) - The future of the famous Iffezheim horse racing track is assured.
On Friday, the community concluded a ten-year agreement with the new operator “Baden Galopp”, which will come into force on April 1st.
The first four days of racing are to take place between August 29 and September 5.
The previous operator “Baden Racing” terminated the cooperation at the end of 2020 for economic reasons.
"The racetrack must and will remain number one in German horse racing," said main investor Peter Gaul when the contract was signed.
In the coming years, turf fans will gradually be offered an overall program with at least twelve racing days per year.
In addition, the 50 hectare facility with around 10,000 square meters of buildings is to be used all year round.
"We can imagine sharing this great terrain with horses and riders from other disciplines," said Gaul.
Concerts, trade fairs, weddings or large family celebrations are also conceivable.
